An Opulent Antique French Pediment, Gilded Wood Carving, 1800's

This is an opulent and rare antique French pediment that dates from the mid 19th century. Discovered recently in Nice, in the South of France this marvellous and highly decorative treasure is hand carved from wood and gilded. Its elegant form and size - measuring 34 x 100 x 7 cm or approximately 13.3 x 39.3 x 2.7 inches - allows it to be used in many creative and innovative ways. It would look just exquisite above a door, a bed or a large work of art. Such items bring remarkable beauty to any interior, classical or contemporary. It is exactly as I discovered it with some signs of ageing mainly seen in a lovely patina created by the passage of time. For the full condition please refer to the images!
